If you have been active online for the past few years, you probably have come across a company named as INFINii. They have become the talk of the town INFINii among those who work online. You may ask why they are so famous, as I also asked myself the same question. The answer to this question has led me to write this review.
What Is INFINii?
For starters, let us take a look at what INFINii is all about. The company’s website describes INFINii as an eCommerce platform that is revolutionary because it has changed the way people interact online. With INFINii, people no longer passively participate in eCommerce; they actively interact with eCommerce. In this way, consumers will no longer be just consumers but will become business people as well. They will be earning some money from their online interactions, as claimed by the company. For this reason, the company’s founders have incorporated eCommerce with freelancing, digital content, and human interaction to create INFINii, the company.
A closer look at the company, however, reveals that it is based primarily on drop shipping. Its founders had earlier started a drop shipping company by the name Drop Shipping Domination (DSD) which did well at some level but had many shortfalls. Therefore, INFINii must be an improvement of the original DSD. Just to explain a little, drop shipping is a simple way to provide goods to a customer without spending much on inventory. If you wish to supply certain products to clients, drop shipping will eliminate the need for you to stock the product. You simply have to liaise with the manufacturer who will ship your orders directly to the clients who need them.
How Does INFINii Work?
Those who wish to join INFINii will start at the basic level, named as Prime.
Level 1: Prime ($49.95pm)
At this level, beginners are introduced to drop shipping. They are also trained on how to sell on eBay. I found it interesting that there is an app that scams for products that are available in local stores and determines whether these products can be sold at Amazon for a profit. If profitability is possible, you can buy these products and ship them to Amazon for sale.
Problem: If you live outside the United States, shipping cost might get higher; thus making it possible for you to incur losses or make very little money out of it.
Level 2: Surge ($149.95pm)
At this level, you will learn more about the products that get sold the most in certain seasons. A software tool is provided at this level which will help you identify the products that make profits and those that make losses. Various trends that are dominant throughout the year will be suggested to you along with products that will make profits out of the trends.
Problem: This level is probably suitable for those who have already managed to get a customer base and are making some money out of drop shipping. If you do not have a market for your product, you will likely be spending a lot of money on the membership with little to no profits.
Level 3: Excel ($399.95pm)
This level is focused more on selling products using Amazon Fulfillment or FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon). This is a new program by Amazon where you buy items at a low price and then sell them at a higher price, making profits in the end.
Apart from this, you will get access to INFINii’s marketplace, where you can buy exclusive products for a discount. Joining the marketplace also means gaining a higher level, thus more discounts and access to more products. Moreover, you will get all the benefits of Prime and Surge with added software for management of inventory and automation.
Problem: If your customer base is small, this program is not for you. You also should be ready to set aside some cash for capital, as you will definitely need to stock up your products at one of Amazon’s fulfillment centers.
This is another special feature that allows you to buy cheap products from places like China, then have them re-branded and sold at Amazon for a much higher profit. There is a bit of restriction with this feature. INFINii reserves a number of seats for members in any of the three membership plans. If you wish to benefit from the Springboard, you will need to have a seat reserved under your name or business name.
Problem: For you to purchase an item out of your country, you will definitely need to do so in bulk. Add the costs of re-branding and shipping fees, and calculate how much this will cost you. There is also a given deadline by which you should have bought and re-branded the products. Plus, you will need to buy the INFINii seats for them to be reserved for you.
As mentioned earlier, the founders of DSD are the same people who have founded INFINii. The first project failed and this one seems to be doing a little bit better. However, the business model that is used at INFINii has some very glaring pitfalls as seen below.
Let’s say that you have started drop shipping with Infiniti. Your business is new but the competition is tough. You might be forced to sell your products at a much lower price to beat the competition. This will not generate the profits you have wanted to gain. So what would you do now? You can turn to the Infiniti recruitment program. Here, you would recruit people to join Infiniti, and get paid a commission. Thus, you will end up being part of a pyramid scheme.
Amazon and eBay do not like the idea of drop shipping. Just take a look at their drop shipping policy. Unless you are the owner of the products being sold, you are at risk of having your account suspended. This means that if you purchase products from a supplier, your name and contacts should appear on the product but nothing more than that. This brings to light the cost of re-branding and the answers you should prepare when consumers start asking questions.
The costs incurred in transactions (PayPal fees) and shipping can be very expensive if your products are in low demand or if the competition is stiff. It will, therefore, take a lot of time and money of yours to gain traction before you start gaining some profits.
The above-mentioned points are just some of the pitfalls I have seen with INFINii’s business model.
After taking a look at what the company offers and the drawbacks of their business model, I have drawn a conclusion that INFINii is more of a recruitment and training program than a money making the program. There is no guarantee that your product will get sold and you will ever see those humongous profits stated on the site. It is a well-known factor in a business that if a product is easily available in a market, the prices will definitely below. INFINii has many members and it is very likely that the products being sold have a lower price due to competition.
It is also apparent to me that the monthly membership fees are rather high. Therefore, you will have to work really hard to make sure that your products will be sold; otherwise, you will be wasting your money. It is also apparent that the company is more like a pyramid scheme where the people at the top levels get paid higher bonuses when they recruit other people.
Should You Join INFINii?
I have always been wary of companies that operate with pyramid-like schemes. The reason why this pyramid-scheme model has been adopted here is that should some members fail to sell their products, they could always try and entice other people to join the company. Plus, you will be spending a lot of money in the long run just to keep using the platform. Do the math: take the sum of the money you will need to buy the products and re-brand them, the shipping fees and the transaction fees, and then add the INFINii monthly membership fee. See how much you will spend and how much profit you could possibly make.
Therefore, I would not recommend that you join INFINii. If you are really interested in making money online, there is another way! Perhaps you have already heard of Digital Altitude. This is a great place for you to get training on digital marketing. If you have a passion for selling stuff online but lack the knowledge of how to do it and where to start, this is definitely what you should be looking for. For just $1, you can join the Aspire trial program and get lots of training on how to start your online business, how to run it and how to make sales. The trial period runs for 14 days after which you will be paying $37pm. In my opinion, I think this is a much cheaper and better way of getting starting with selling your stuff online.
